This journal contains practical information on all aspects of applied physics, especially instrumentation and measurement techniques. Particular emphasis is given to plasma physics, with related fields such as the study of charged particles in electromagnetic fields, synchrotron radiation, electron and ion beams, gas lasers and discharges receiving coverage. Also well represented studies of the properties of condensed matter, including semiconductors, superconductors, gases, liquids, and of different materials.

Applied physics, especially plasmas; quantum electronics; surface effects; accelerator design and development; atomic and molecular physics; materials science; and theoretical and mathematical physics.
